OK. In each package of baby stuff is this piece of paper saying how you should place your baby on his back and not have any pillows, blankets, quilts, etc in the crib. Failure to follow these instructions may result in serious injury or death. I have also heard this now in every class and read it in every book. From the moment I first heard them, I intended to follow these instructions.
As the message became more saturated I went from determined to parinoid to now indifferent. Not indifferent about how to arringe Jeffrey in the crib but about the message. I open a crib accessory and the paper is there and I just toss it with out a thought. I guess I don’t need to be reminded life is dangerous and my baby could die while sleepeing. Oh sure I understand what I need to do and why but is the saturation of this message really helping? I have to think of Prop 65 in California. Everywhere you go you see a Prop 65 warning sign about how you are getting poisioned by just standing where you are. But every where you go you see the sign so what are you going to do? Where are you safe?
So I have to wonder if this is how smokers feel after seeing the message about how smoking kills a million times?
